Background
The evolving changes in the port planning documents have their origin in the Urban Development Agreement, signed on 4th October 2004 between the Ministry of Public Works and the Town Council of A Coruña to the urban distribution of some specific areas in the port of A Coruña, as well as in San Diego Railway Station in. This agreement will also help to promote the financing of part of the buildings of the new Outer Port in Punta Langosteira.
This agreement consists on two differentiated spheres:
- Zone I, including Battery and Calvo Sotelo areas
- Zone II, including San Diego quay,San Diego Station and the oil port
The scheme to finance the buildings of the Outer Port is structured in three main lines:
- European Cohesion Funds
- Transfer of assets of the Port Authority of A Coruña
- Flows coming from the Port Authority of A Coruña
